The Riviera Polo Shirt is the essence of Bond style. The style and unique mesh fabric were first developed by Sunspel in the 1950s for the French Riviera and later tailored for Daniel Craig’s debut performance as James Bond in Casino Royale. Crafted from the finest, extra-long staple Supima cotton, traceable to its Californian farm of origin, it is lightweight, breathable and exceptionally comfortable. Here in archive white.

Sunspel Q75 100% Supima cotton mesh

The unique material that makes the Riviera Polo Shirt so good to wear was invented by Peter Hill, great-grandson of Sunspel’s founder, in 1955. Holidaying on the French Riviera, he found the traditional polo shirts made from cotton piquet too warm and heavy. So on returning home he recalibrated Sunspel’s lacemaking machines to create something better: a lightweight cotton fabric with a soft, breathable mesh structure. Hill called the fabric Quality 75.

Today it’s made with the world’s finest Supima cotton which is sustainably farmed in California and can be traced to the exact farm it came from. The cotton’s high quality and extra-long staple make for a fabric that’s not only effortlessly smooth against the skin but one that’s also exceptionally durable too.

The Care

Gentle wash inside out at 30°C. Do not tumble dry. Dry cleanable.

For Bladen tailored jackets: If over 185 cm height you might need a long size (UK**L) and if under 175 you might need a short size (UK**S). Sleeves can be shortened (a lot) or lengthened (3-4 cm) and waist can be taken in (up to 8 cm) and let out (up to 6cm) at an alterations tailor. This is why picking size from your chest is so important.
