For Bladen tailored jackets: If over 185 cm height you might need a long size (UK**L) and if under 175 you might need a short size (UK**S). Sleeves can be shortened (a lot) or lengthened (3-4 cm) and waist can be taken in (up to 8 cm) and let out (up to 6cm) at an alterations tailor. This is why picking size from your chest is so important.

Variant

Jack’s Mac is Private White V.C.’s signature single-breasted raincoat, made in the company’s Manchester factory and named after Private Jack White V.C. This latest version adds a lightweight Ventile half-lining through the sleeves and upper body which, together with the seam-taped outer shell, creates a fully waterproof all-cotton construction without a synthetic membrane.

We have carried Private White V.C.’s Ventile Mac through four versions now, which says something about how highly we rate the design. The regular fit leaves comfortable room over tailoring and other layers. In British Racing Green, the clean fly-fronted shape has a particularly traditional character, while the piece-dyed cloth will soften and develop naturally with wear.

The Cloth

100% Ventile® cotton that was developed at the direct request from Sir Winston Churchill during World War II. Fully water proof thanks to the extra-long staple cotton that’s used to weave this fabric. Thousands of these little threads are woven tightly together and they immediately swell when wet, forming a solid wall that stops any water from seeping through. Environmental friendly DWR treated to shed water.
