The Cloth

100 % virgine wool spun and finished by Harris Tweed Hebrides in their 100 years old Shawbost mill. The actual cloth is handwoven in the homes of the weaving community of the Outer Hebrides. In our opinion Harris Tweed Hebrides offers the best yarn depth, patterns and cloth finish available in the Harris Tweed trade.

The Care

Take care of your tailored wool garments by airing and brushing to avoid frequent dry cleaning. Wet stains should be treated at once by soaking up any surface liquid with a tissue. Then immediately alternately dab the stain softly with a wet cloth (to dilute the stain) and a dry tissue (to absorb the stain) until the stain has been removed. If still visible after drying, consult a processional dry cleaner. You may press with a damp cloth under the iron (wool setting) the parts of the garment that is not canvassed (all parts except for the front quarters and lapels of a jacket) to flat out some wrinkles. Be patient and do not press too hard.

For Bladen tailored jackets: If over 185 cm height you might need a long size (UK**L) and if under 175 you might need a short size (UK**S). Sleeves can be shortened (a lot) or lengthened (3-4 cm) and waist can be taken in (up to 8 cm) and let out (up to 6cm) at an alterations tailor. This is why picking size from your chest is so important.
