A pair of jeans is a foundational cornerstone of a modern man’s wardrobe. The NW8 from Black Horse Lane is a relaxed heritage-inspired slim leg style, perfect if you are looking for a trimmer silhouette but not too tight. They have the same rise and fit as NW1 around your seat and hips, but the leg tapers more with a slimmer thigh, knee and hem. Goes with just about anything and can easily be dressed up or down.

These jeans are made from a sturdy 14 oz weight raw selvedge denim woven in Setouchi, Japan, by Collect Mills. Rope dyed with synthetic indigo dye for consistent coverage but characterful yarns creating the characteristic slubby apperance.

The Cloth

Sanforized (pre-shrunk) raw selvedge denim woven in Japan by Collect Mill. Rope dyed with synthetic indigo dye for consistent coverage but characterful yarns. Slub character; special slub effect that has short frequent slubs combined with long slubs.

Collect Mill reproduce denim of vintage jeans by high performance computer spinning technique (Yamachu Boseki) and vintage shuttle looms (Toyoda GL-9) and finishing machine handled by skilled craftsman. The result is a unique combination of vintage denim look and feel, and the lack of fabric defects and quality issues all too common back in the days.

The Care

Cold wash only, or the denim will shrink by 5%
Wash inside out with mild detergent or none at all
They are Sanforized so will shrink in the length up to 1″, but shouldn’t shrink in the width
Raw denim will give up to a 1½″ in the waistband, so the fit should be snug (but not restrictive) to compensate

For Bladen trousers: Trousers come un-hemmed in a generous length inseam (36-38 inch), finish them to your taste at an alterations tailor. Waist is easy to adjust in or out at least one size (5cm). This is why picking size from your seat is so important.
