Cut from British Millerain waxed cotton, this fishtail parka is made for days when the weather cannot be trusted. The detachable hood, umbrella back yoke and ribbed cuffs create a quietly protective layer, while the extended fishtail back adds both coverage and a touch of mod style. Inside, Thermore padding and a soft teddy style lining offer steady warmth. Deep front pockets and an inner corduroy lined pocket handle the practical side. A straightforward, winter ready parka with a classic fishtail shape that moves easily between city streets and open fields.

Regular Fit

The Cloth

100% cotton, waxed and proofed by British Millerain. Baracuta have picked a classic wet wax finish for their garments, with a matte appearance. Rugged but soft it will develop a nice patina when used.

Towards the end of the 1880's, British Millerain began to develop fabrics which would suit a wide variety of clothing requirements, from the rigours of life in the armed forces to the demands of country pursuits. Since the advent of the first patented Millerain® rainproof finish in 1894, the company have expanded its waterproof offerings into apparel and commercial markets.

The Care

The surface of waxed cotton will mark and crease where handled and come off when scraped.

These markings are not faults and are a normal, inherent characteristic of the finish.

The oily feel of the fabric will also dry during garment fabrication, age and wear, leading to garments with an appearance unique to the individual wearer.

Do not wash, do not dry clean, do not tumble-dry.

Do not iron, do not bleach.

Brush off mud when dry and sponge the area with cold water.

Avoid contact with alcohol-based products, fabric softeners and solvent cleaners.

Never use soap or detergents.

Regular re-proofing with wax will maintain the weatherproof properties of the fabric and prolong garment life.

Sleeves can be shortened (a lot) or lengthened (3-4 cm) and waist can be taken in (up to 8 cm) and let out (up to 6cm) at an alterations tailor. This is why picking size from your chest is so important.
