About us

Tweed – Gentlemen’s Clothier is an independent menswear shop in Stockholm. The business began in 2007 as Tweed Country Sports. The present name developed naturally as our scope broadened.

Our concern has always been clothing drawn from a British tradition of practical dress: garments chosen not for display, but for use. We began with British country clothing and have gradually adjusted the assortment towards garments that prove their worth over time, also in everyday urban life. Not fashion-driven, but grounded in established forms: tweed jackets, flannel trousers, proper outerwear, knitwear and shoes made for use. Clothes shaped by climate, occupation and habit rather than by seasonal trend.

These garments are not preserved as period pieces. We select them for present use, combine them in ways that make sense now, and refine details where necessary so that they remain useful without losing their character.

Our role is not to prescribe wardrobes, but to present a considered selection that works together in practice. Many garments have a distinct character, but they are chosen so that they can be worn naturally and form part of everyday dress.

Much of what we carry comes from long-established British brands and makers whose work still reflects that practical tradition. They are specialists, and we rely on that knowledge rather than attempting to reinvent things. Where something further is needed, it is developed in collaboration with them.

Alongside these, we develop our own tailoring range in collaboration with Bladen, drawing on their archive of patterns and their long experience of British cutting and tailoring methods. The garments are made to our specification, using British fabrics that we source. This allows the tailoring to follow our principles of proportion, longevity and ease of wear.

We are a small team and remain closely involved with what we sell, adjusting, refining and improving where necessary. The work is incremental and guided by how the garments are actually worn. The aim is simply to offer clothing that does its job, and continues to do so.

Yours cordially,

Karl Oskar Källsner
