The Cloth

Grenfell Cloth originated in the early 20th century when Thomas Haythornthwaite and his son Walter developed a dense, breathable, and windproof fabric inspired by Dr. Wilfred Grenfell's needs. Initially woven from the finest Egyptian cotton, this innovative cloth was so waterproof that dyeing was a challenge. Named after Dr. Grenfell, who first used it in Labrador, Grenfell Cloth soon became renowned for its durability and weather resistance.
