G9 Wax Pocket Jacket Tan

Be ready for the wet and windy weather with Baracuta's G9 Waxed Pocket Jacket made from a tan British Millerain waxed cotton, the original manufacturer of this fabric since 1880. It is an Authentic Fit jacket making it more spacious and relaxed than the Regular Fit - found in the classic G9 Harrington. The jacket has made a slight change to the traditional G9 features, instead of its signature slanted side pockets, it has two bigger pockets in the centre of the jacket. Other than this new addition, its other features include the G9's iconic umbrella back yoke and its classic two-button dog ear collar.

The Cloth

100% cotton, waxed and proofed by British Millerain. Baracuta have picked a classic wet wax finish for their garments, with a matte appearance. Rugged but soft it will develop a nice patina when used.

Towards the end of the 1880's, British Millerain began to develop fabrics which would suit a wide variety of clothing requirements, from the rigours of life in the armed forces to the demands of country pursuits. Since the advent of the first patented Millerain® rainproof finish in 1894, the company have expanded its waterproof offerings into apparel and commercial markets.

The Care

The surface of waxed cotton will mark and crease where handled and come off when scraped.

These markings are not faults and are a normal, inherent characteristic of the finish.

The oily feel of the fabric will also dry during garment fabrication, age and wear, leading to garments with an appearance unique to the individual wearer.

Do not wash, do not dry clean, do not tumble-dry.

Do not iron, do not bleach.

Brush off mud when dry and sponge the area with cold water.

Avoid contact with alcohol-based products, fabric softeners and solvent cleaners.

Never use soap or detergents.

Regular re-proofing with wax will maintain the weatherproof properties of the fabric and prolong garment life.

For Bladen tailored jackets: If over 185 cm height you might need a long size (UK**L) and if under 175 you might need a short size (UK**S). Sleeves can be shortened (a lot) or lengthened (3-4 cm) and waist can be taken in (up to 8 cm) and let out (up to 6cm) at an alterations tailor. This is why picking size from your chest is so important.
